Golden Ratio: A designer’s myth in reality.

The golden ratio is the proportion of two different numbers. It has many names like the Golden Section, Golden Number, Golden Mean, Golden Proportion, Golden Rectangle, Golden Triangle, Golden Spiral, Golden Cut, The Divine Proportion, Fibonacci Sequence, and Tau (τ). The Golden Ratio is simply a deviation from 1 to 1.618.
But the main question is what can a designer do with Golden Ratio? It is said that every beautiful thing in the world has one thing in common which makes it beautiful to the eye of a human being. It’s called the Divine Proportion or Fibonacci Sequence or Golden Ratio. Many scientists, philosophers, and mathematicians like Pythagoras, Phidias, Pluto, Leonardo da Vinci proved this theory through philosophy, math and physics.
The designer’s job is to make a design elegant, unique, and beautiful to other human eyes. The Golden Ratio can make this job easy. How to use it can be a question. All designers can put their work on the grid or it can automatically be found in design. Because the human eye can correctly catch symmetry and asymmetry to make a design beautiful. Architects of old Greece, Rome or others maintain this theory from the old times. Parthenon and Notre Dame in Paris exactly followed the old rules of the Golden Section to make the structure eye-catching.
Even the human body represents the golden section. Famous artist Leonardo Da Vinci proved it by this painting like Monalisa. Another person, Dr Stephen Marquardt, has discovered a template for human beauty using the Golden Section, with obvious relevance in the plastic surgery industry. Marquardt’s analysis takes ethnicity into account and illustrates variations that are both numerous and subtle.
The Golden Rectangle is perfectly suited for web design. It can divide the proportions into different types of rectangles and make it beautiful for design. Now a lot of internet content uses this ratio to get the highest effect.
Designers are now using Golden Ratios in every possible way like photo cropping, typography, logo design, and photo composition and indeed, Golden Ratio grids are always giving the maximum effect in the design. That’s why in a unique designer portfolio a hidden golden ratio grid is a must.
