New Experiments in Space Architecture.

Space Exploration is expanding as a space race.NASA has been taken the major role since the 20th century. As part of exploration, humans always want to spread civilization to the next level. Scientists, Architects and Engineers are working on it.

This year Nasa sent a small helicopter to Mars which will return in February 2021. This is the first aircraft that has been sent to another planet. People are positive about building houses on other planets like Mars, Venus or Moon. NASA and researchers are always looking for new designs which are sustainable for other planets. The main challenge of a living planet like Mars is the atmosphere like no oxygen in the air, extreme cold, low pressure and high radiation. Architects and researchers suggest different techniques to build homes on other planets, many of which have been approved by NASA.

There are many major concerns about building houses in outer space like how to carry heavy building materials. That’s why researchers suggest 3D printed houses. A 3D printer is a giant machine which can build a house within 24hours. It is a concrete contour-based building technique. So, humans will set foot on other planets, select the plan of the house and find it build within 24 hours.

NASA arranges 3D printing habitant challenges. Various kinds of ideas have been approved by this team. “The ice home” is popular amongst them. In many areas, Mars has abundant of water just under the surface. The structure is more like a torus, an inner tube with translucent material, which is surrounded by a water layer to protect humans from galactic cosmic rays, space radiation.

Marsha

Marsha is another 3D printing building with a long slender shape,it’s more like a jar. Or an urn. Or an egg. It is 15 feet high and 8 feet in diameter and built without human assistance. The four-level building is connected with spiral stairs in the interior. It is more like a tiny bit of Earth in the middle of extreme cold temperature on Mars.

Another type of housing on the Moon is based on the tubular module which is covered with regolith, a layer of material on the lunar surface. It is also a 3d printed housing and will be located in the south pole for constant sunlight.

Many kinds of MARS housing have been approved by NASA like Underground Base, Under Glass Dome, Hexagoane style which are also sustainable and capacity to protect humans from rough weather.

Humans still have not set foot on other planets, except the Moon. But, these housings are the initiation of a new era according to human civilization. Many scientists, researchers, engineers, architect are eagerly waiting for the day when their dream projects will come into reality.
